MSB has a few items that can be adjusted. These are found in the Preferences pane. This also where you can enter your registration information, see Registration for more details.

To access Preferences, use the menu or press Controlcomma (Windows) or Command-comma (Mac).

Note: Not all options are applicable in all versions.

Telephone Format

Enter your phone number here, without any country codes or dialing prefixes such as 0. MSB uses this to determine how to format numbers for display and also how many digits are relevant.

Show Scrollbars in Lists

Optionally displays vertical scrollbar in list mode when desired. Visibility does not affect scrolling; you may use the arrow keys or mouse wheel regardless.

Protect Backups

When not selected, MSB will ask you if you want to enable the RollBack feature when you quit the program. Selecting this checkbox tells MSB to perform Rollback always, without asking.
This option also enables the creation of caches to speed up scanning.

Resetting Preferences

In certain circumstances, it may be necessary to reset the preferences, particularly when a registration does not work when MSB is relaunched.

Versions 3.1.3 and higher: You can reset the preferences by launching the program, then immediately press and hold the SHIFT key before the main window appears. Note: This will clear all preferences, including registration info.

3.1.2 and earlier versions: You may delete the preference file manually. To find the preference files, use the File menu and select Reveal Folder MSB Preferences.  If that is not possible, you can also find them manually at these locations (you must replace <your user name> with the name of your home/user folder)

/Users/<your user name>/Library/Preferences/MobileSyncBrowser/

Windows XP/2000:
C:\Documents and Settings\<your user name>\Application Data\MobileSyncBrowser\

Windows Vista:
C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\<Local or Roaming>\MobileSyncBrowser\

The MobileSyncBrowser preferences folder may be deleted in its entirety. It will be recreated the next time MSB is launched.
